Discount Tire needed to expand their digital capabilities to match their best-in-class in-store service

For decades, Discount Tire had built its reputation on exceptional in-store service and a highly knowledgeable sales team, but its online experience had not yet evolved to the same standard. With a strong foundation in store operations, the company sought to evolve its digital presence to meet growing customer expectations for online research, product discovery, and service coordination. The key challenge was translating the personalized, consultative in-store experience into a seamless, intuitive digital journey that supported the complexity of vehicle fitment, product installation, and service.

To meet this goal, Discount Tire needed to implement core functionality that would make the website a powerful extension of the store experience. That meant enabling users to purchase accessories independently, browse staggered fitment options with clarity, receive personalized product recommendations through the Treadwell fitment tool, and manage their profiles, appointments, and order history via My Account. Avatria was trusted to help design and deliver these critical enhancements, transforming the site into a strategic, customer-centric asset for the business.

Deliver Foundational Website Enhancements to Support Digital Growth
As Discount Tire expanded its digital presence, Avatria was entrusted to lead the end-to-end delivery of several core web features that were critical to improving the online customer experience and enabling eCommerce success. Each project required end-to-end ownership, including project management, functional and technical design, front- and back-end development, and QA to ensure seamless execution. Key projects included the following:

  • Accessories Online: Enable online purchasing of accessory products, including new category navigation, expanded search logic, and cart flows decoupled from tire/wheel purchases.

  • Staggered/Optional-Size Fitment Experience: Enabled customers to browse and filter staggered tire and wheel sets and optional sizes compatible with their vehicle, improving usability and support for safe, non-standard size options.

  • Treadwell Experience Enhancements: Improve the user experience of Discount Tire's proprietary personalized tire recommendation tool with branded visuals, enhanced filtering, and improved display of performance analytics.

  • My Account Enhancements: Deliver key updates, from enabling real-time customer profile syncs between store and web, to appointment scheduling and cancellation, to improved order detail display.

Fitment and tire recommendations were further enhanced to support staggered vehicles and optional size configurations, giving customers more clarity and confidence when selecting tires.

  • My Account now offers greater self-service, allowing users to manage appointments and view detailed order history updates, streamlining post-purchase interactions and easing the burden on customer service teams.

  • Customers can now pay for their products online, see more in-stock options, and experience faster arrival of products in store.
